Louisa A. Walker to Enos Reed, 20 January 1863
Belinda Iowa Jan 20th 1863
My Dear Husband
I will write you a few lines to let you know that I am the happy mother of a little daughter, born yesterday at six oclock P.M. I know that you will be glad to hear that it is all over and to know. I am able to tell you about it myself. Mother and Ma were both here and Ma is here yet and will stay until I get a girl to come and stay. I sent for Dr Rodgers and Harv brought Dr. Gunn I think he is a good physition and understands his business thoroughly. I will write you a long letter as soon as I get well enough. I want you to send a nice little name for the baby.
Adieu for this time
your loving wife
L. A. Reed
