     My Dear Wife
                    Yours of the 26th of
Feb arived last night   Was very
glad to here from you   am
very glad to here that your
throat is better   I hope it will
keep gaining   you must be careful
so it will get well    We was
paid as of last Friday  all but one
board money      I sent Fifty
Dolars to you by Captain
Andros.   I told him if he didnt
Want to go to Fairlee for anything
that he might hand it to
George Morrison and he will
give it to you   that note is
twenty five dolars    I dont
rember when it was given
it was after I enlisted   thare
will be some interest on it
I believe that is all that I am
O’ing in Bradsford or any
whar else   the rest of the
money you may do what
you think is best  With it you
must use enough of it to keep
you clothed up in good shape
I wrote you the other day
that I thought we should
Start Sunday but it is
Sunday and we have not
started yet  I think we should
leave some time this weak about
Wensday   I guess it rained
here most all day last
monday the day we came
down  we got here on time
the rest of the boys have
got back except Jack Young
he has deserted and gone
to Canada    Smart young
man aint he   I wish
we could get him and
put him into the ranks
once more   I dont think
of much more to write
this time Frances  I shall
be very lonsom without you
My thoughts are with you all
the time     I hope the day is not
far of when we may return
to our homes and live in peace
with our Dear Wifes and friends
I dont think we shall have
much fighting to do but if
we do we will stand to the
work and do the best we
can  Write and let me know
whether you get that money
I sent you or not  wont you

your little Boy is    Good Buy
