Corra Osborn
Corra Osborn was born around 1831 in Westfield, New Jersey, to Corra and Hannah Osborn. His father was a physician who owned $6,000 of real estate by 1850. He grew up and attended school in Westfield. He married Evanette Fobes around 1858, and their daughter Lucy was born around 1860. They lived in Troy, New York, and Osborn worked as a Baptist minister. By 1860, he owned $800 of personal property.
 
In November 1862, he became a chaplain in the 43rd New York Infantry. The regiment took part in the Battle of Chancellorsville and the Battle of Gettysburg. He mustered out on December 10, 1863.
 
He returned to Westfield after the war, and by 1870, he owned $25,000 of real estate and $3,000 of personal property. He died by “Suicide by Morphia” in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 22, 1884.
