Dear Wife,
I will try and write
a few lines and let you know I
have not forgotten you the long
and lonsom days that have passed
since I left my home to come
far away not one day are you
forgotten Dear Frances nor are you
out of my mind maney minutes
in the day and you never will be
as long as I live I would give a
grate deal to see you to day
and am in hopes to before long
Well Frances I do soon expect
to go home before a grate while
as my health is not very good
here I have not been able
to do much since the
first of June the trouble
is with my liver &
citneys but are in hops
I shall be smart in a short
time you must not make up
your mind that I am coming
home for I may not but are
in hops for I think it would
be better for me and just as
well for the compania I under
stand the doctor has siend my
discharge if the rest will sine
it I can go I can go home if not I
cant When I find out whether I
go or not I will let you know
I have not heard from home for
sometime I want to here from
my sick mothervery much I
think of her a grate deal I hope
she is better before now My best
wishes are with her forever You have
no doubt herd of the
death of Leiut Chilld
before now We feel
his loss very much he was
a good officer and was
thought a grate deal of by the
Compania I dont thinkof much
more to write this the boys are
as usual and give my love to all
