                     Brattlesboro, Nov, 16th, 1863
 
Dear Wife
                       I will write you
a few lines and let you know
that I arived here safe and
all right    the Doctor looked me
over a little and put me in the
Hospital    I dont know how long
I shall stay here     I think not
a grate while    Frances I should
rather be at home with you
than to be here    it does not
seem like home here to me
my health is about the same
as it was when I left home
it is a very plesant plase here
thare is five of us here that belong
to the eight Regiment    I think we
shall all go to geather when we
go to New Orleans    Well frances
I cant write much more this time
I want to see you very much
and are inhops that I shall some
time    Give my love to all and
accept a good share your self
Write soon and all the
news    Good Buy
