My Dear Wife
                         yours of the 15th arived
last night and was very glad to
here from you again and that you are so
smart    My health keeps about the
same as it has been    We dont
here anything about being
sent of yet    you wanted to know
what the Dr said about me    Well
he did not say what he thought
of me    he ast me if I didnt
think I was able for duty and
I told him I did not and that
is about all that was said tha
will rather send us to the Regiment
or put us in to the invled Corps
but I think I shall go to the Regiment
for all going into that amoung
strangers   You said that Seath
thought if I had to camp out
the first night after I got
here that I must have a purty
rough time of it   tell Seath
I hold a very good bed to
sleep on and a good fire to
keep us warm     it is a very pleasant
plase here but rather lonsom to
me    I have never been so lonsom
at the South as I am here    Dear
Frances I know you must be    I wish
I could be thare to comfort you
and pass of these lonley days
and nights that are so long
and lonsom    Dear Frances as it
is otherwise ordered we must
keep up good curage and look
and hope for the best and if
we concur we may all meet at
home and spend the rest of our
days in piese and happiness
if not I hope we may live
so that we shall meet in a
better wourald whare thare
will be no more parting
Well Frances you said if money
was plenty you would come to
Brattlesboro and see the plase
Well I should be very happy indeed
to have you come to this plase and
see how it looks here    I think I will
ask the steward if I can go up
thare to the Thanksgiving but I hardley
think that tha will let me go    I should
like to very much    if I dont go
I should like to have you come
down here if you think you can
I will try and get a pass to
stay one or two nights down
to the village when you come
the fare is about three dollars
Sunday 22nd    Good Morning Frances
I am feeling very well this morning and
hope you are feeling the same    I wish I could be
thare to go to church with you to day
it is a very plesant day here and I think
it must be thare    you wanted to know
if I found Neman here    Yess he is here yet
I dont know as he will go back when I do or
any one else    thare is six of us here that
belong to the eight but I think thare will
be some one to go with me    dont know
we shall aney of us go  I have but
as lives go back as to say here    Well Icant
write much more this time    if you
can come down her you borey the mon of some one
and I will pay you here     Frances I should
like to have you come very much    if you
can come please write and let me know
when you will be here and I will try and
be at the depot    I will send you five
dollars in this letter and then you get
enough more so if any thing should
happen that I shouldnt be here that you
would have enough to get back with    I think
I shall be here   I must close for this time
Please write soon and all the news

good wishes and a good night kiss
