Sarah Sadd
Sarah Sadd (maiden name: Green) was born on November 23, 1837, in East Windsor, Connecticut, to William and Jane Green. Her father was a farmer who owned $3,500 of real estate and $560 of personal property by 1860. She grew up and attended school in South Windsor, Connecticut, and she married Henry W. Sadd around 1860. They had at least four children: Arthur, born around 1860; Edmund, born around 1861; Walter, born around 1863; and Robert, born around 1868. She supported the Republican Party during the Civil War. Her husband worked as a farmer, and by 1870, they owned $10,000 of real estate and $4,000 of personal property. She died on January 29, 1871.
