coming out    I came on the Steem
Ship Mississipia    Well Frances
it dont seem much like home
here to me but perhaps I shall
get the hang of it before long
I have not done aney duty
yet but I guess I shall go to
work tomorrow if nothing
happens    I dred to go to doing
orderlys duty again    I should
much rather go home and
stay with you the rest of my
time but that I cant do so
I must be contented to stay
here till next June and perhaps
longer    the boys all think tha
are going home then    I hope
tha wont get disapointed on it
We are having soome very cold
weather here    I guess it will be
warm in a few days    thare is
not much sines of having much
fighting here at present and I
hope we shall never have aney
more here    We have about ten
thousand troops here     Well Frances
you dont know how much better
I feel about one thing and
that is about Henry Robie
Capt Leach says that he seen
a man at New Orleans that
seen him in a        Camp
in Mariland   I think it was
I should think that he would
write home and let them know
that he is alive    I am going to
try and find out who it was
and find out all about it
if I can        you had better
write to them and let them
know that he is alive    I  feel
so much better about him
that I dont hardley know
what to do with myself
I hope he will get a chance to
go home before long    the boys
are all well    I believe Lewis
& Herzia are though as ever    I should
like to be thare and go to church
with you tomorrow very much but
it is imposibal for me to be
Cant stop to write much more this
time
