New Orleans Sunday morning September the 13 it is pleasent this morning we got hear about 4 oclock this morning. wel I will go on with my conflab September the 11 we had apleasent ride to day about sundown we saw a sail near our corse it was in distress we run to her it proved to be the bark elexandra with the 116 NYVol that had bin with us but the wind was low and ahead and the tug that was toeing her had got out of coal and left her so we took her in toe and went ahead and at 10 on the 12 we spoke a mail steamer from Boston and the sailors got some mail and at 1 we left the Elexandra at the south west pass and we went on along our way regoiseing our boys are all well that is here my foot is not quite well yet but I can get around prety well but I hurt it and made it worse /
 
wel I expect we will get some mail here soon there must be one for us in New Orleans now well pete write Direct to NO and it will be all rite I think likely them boots are hear too that is all this time
