Dear Brother
I received your kind letter mailed the 8 a few days ago but as I had writton to you but a few days before so I thought I would wait a while before writing and as I have a good chance to scribble I thought now was my time. Well it is warm and pleasent here and has bin fore some time I and Joel A Mc jist came off of pickit we had a very good time we was on the reserve there was some 25 or 30 of us and we had a good fire to sit by and a shed to stay under and tell yarns and get off Joakes there was one third that was up all / all the time and so we had a jolley time and we also had a jolley old time last thursday that was puling up stakes and moveing you see we had got every thing all nice and handy and some of the boys say that they was a fraid we would forget how to move so they thought they would try us on but they could not fool us on that fore we had our shantys all tore down in about one hour after we had orders to move we moved about half a mile near town so we are in one edge and have more room and a nice drill ground in front of camp which we had not before well it took one day to move and build our shanty we had them haled by the mules and the next day we got our bricks drawed and built our chimney up again and I think we have got things a little nicer and better than / they was before and the talk is that we are going to stay here some time if not longer. Hank says that the Adjent read agreat long string of orders on dresperade this morning and a mongst the rest that they had named this Camp Harrower in memory of old Col So I suppose we will have to git right down hevy and dust our leathers fore awhile or get slashed well let them rip there was meeting in the episcopel church this fore noon and quite a no of the boys went there is to be preaching at the Chaplains tent this after noon he has meeting two or three times a week but it dont seam much like meeting fore there is no gals to go home with we see onse in a while a lady but they are rather delicate and scarce. and then the offisers / takes all thear attentions So a privite has no chance unless he hapens to get on guard at some plantation

I hear that most all the gals are geting married up in old Steuben I expect that the next news will be that Ellis and Pete will be married or dried up with some old maid what you think. Frank Hiler taken him a wife I thought he was married last summer but I hurd the day that he was agoing to be in a few days well there is no war news here jist now so good By
