Dear Brother
                                                                                                                        I take this oportunity to write you afew lines to let you know how I am a geting along. I am well and having a bulley good time here we left the mouth of white river on the 11 we was turned over to the 2 Brigade 2 Division 19 A. Corps and probably will stay with it some time. we are wating for transportaion to little rock an may leave here to morrow as there is part of the Brig exspects to go to day if they can get transportaion the cars run from here to little Rock the Lieu thinks we may go with our own conveyance 
 
the Mager came down from Columbus, Ky where the regt was and took the boys and what was left in camp at the mouth of white river up to the regt the same day that we left there the Mager said the Boys was all in good spirits when he left them they had had a little snow with them well Pete the last letter I got from you was dated Sept 25th the same time I got the shirt & socks but I supose there must be some mail with the regt for me but the Devil onely knowes when I will get it and I dont know what to say a bout your Directing your letters if I was sure of staying with this brigade I would have you Direct to the Ambalance Corp of the 2 Brig 2 Division but by the time it would get here I may be with the 3 Brig again or they may be with / us I will write to some of the boys in the Co and have them send my mail to me if they can
 
well I will tell you some thing a bout this place the white River is a nice stream but very crooked and this is 180 miles from the mouth and 30 or 40 miles from little Rock by land here it is high rooling land with heavy oak timber. there use to be a small town here but was burnt but they are building it up again there is severel large store houses bin built this summer and more building now. there is a large [?] a few miles back where they cut hey for the Goverment stock. there is one or two saw mills bin built here or a mile below this last summer So this is quite a buisiness town and thickley inhabited now the houses are most all log /
