Dear Sir
I was a Union Soldier from start to the end of the "Civil War": but am desirous of reading and having in my library all books that I can ever manage to purchase written on that subject on both sides Among them should be "From Bull Run to Appomattox".
Where can I get it & what will a copy cost? I was under McClellan in 1861 & 1862 & after chancellorsvill was sent west.
Family cares & especially the care of two families in Dixie whose heads were lost in the last cause kept me more than busy & I had no time to hunt up this class of literature & read it. Now I can do but little else at 84—
Sketches written by participants are more reliable than the guesses of Historians.
Respy yours
John G Clark
