L. W. Hopkins.
Dear Sir—I rec'd your book and find it a good one, tip top. If I had lots of cash I would buy it any way But it does not say much about 2d Bull Run and other battles in which I was engaged—I am historian of my regiment and expect to get out a book this year giving my experience &c. I was shot and gobbled Aug 29/62 at Groveton Va—I will see Librarian here in few days and see if he wants 1 or more of your books—If I dont sell it I will return it to you with thanks—Yours Truly
