Albert I. Mather to Luther W. Hopkins, 27 October 1911
Rockland, Maine, Oct 27th 1911.

Dear old comrade:
Letter received. Enclosed please find P.O. Order for $1.12 in payment for book. I have looked it over and am sure I will find it interesting.

I find that John L. Smith of Philadelphia, formerly of the 118th Penn, was in the same brigade I was. I have written him relative to history of his regiment. Capt Frederick M Colston of your city, I had a letter from some time ago. He and I were very close together one time in the Appomattox Campaign, when I with others were waiting in the woods to capture his wagon train.

Fraternally,
A. J. Mather.
