Thomas Ashburner to Luther W. Hopkins, 18 February 1918
Chicago, Ill., Feb. 18 1918

Dear Cousin Luther
Referring to your book "From Bull Run to Appomattox" it occurred to me this would be a fine book to have in the Camp Y.M.C.A. Libraries. I took the liberty of speaking of this to one of the Y.M.C.A. Officials in Chicago.

It is possible you have already made some effort to put out the books in this way & of course my suggestion may be rather late. If however you have not made an effort to put these books in the Y.M.C.A. Libraries & you should wish to do so my friend advises that you could take up the matter with the party who decides on all books to be purchased for the Camps. This party is Mr. P. F. Jerome, care /

it might result in a wide distribution of the books. If you do not & I could help in any way you can let me hear later
                                                                                                Sincerely yours
                                                                                                Thos. Ashburner

[note]

What do you think of this I sent Jerome a book and circular and wrote him—

We are all well and getting along fine will write you soon
