Jeanie Carter to Luther W. Hopkins, 11 November 19XX
Warrenton Jan Nov 11th

My dear Mr Hopkins
We are perfectly delighted with your book, think it fine, could not be better, so readable, so interesting, so well written. I do not see a fault or flaw in it. I have been reading it all day, ever since it came this morning. All in this house who have looked over it / pronounce it fine—one lady from T[?] boarding with us is going to order a copy of it to take home. I gave one copy to Mr Marshall (the Editor of "The Virginian", the best paper here) with your compliments. he said he would certainly read it & write it up in his paper. [?] has looked over it with much interest, & said he / had no idea you could have written such a book. We are all so interested in it. I am going to write them at The Plains about it. I will see how many orders I can get you up there—will talk it up around Warrenton also after Mr Marshall writes about it in his paper a boy might be engaged to canvas it through this town. I will / do all I can for you, towards selling it, & I am most enthusiastic over it. I received your card about corrections, which were so small as never to have been noticeable. All join me in love for you all

Sincerely & affecly yrs
                        Jeanie Carter
