Dear Son
We are all well & have been so during all the sickley season so far & hope this may find you and your fellow soldiers in the enjoiment of the same blessing. I saw Mr Bellows Mr Trego Mr Zimermans & Mrs Barvitts & the most of all of your friends here today & they are generally well there is nothing new here worth mentioning there are many people sick yet but none being dangerous we have had a good rain which will probley improve the health some. /
 
Now Wm O. we are evry few days looking for a letter from you but none yet what is wrong are you sick or have you no time to write; some of the other boys have wrote home since they are at Boling Green we hope you will write soon as your Mother & all of us are fearfull you are sick
 
I wrote two letters to Louisville & one to Bowling Green
 
I am writing this in town & hope this will bring an answer soon there are many reports here about your danger in Kentucky & our Sesh like to spred them and make things worse than they realy are /
 
we Recd a letter from Emely Eckley, she is on a visit to Ohio & says Isaac & Levi Eckley have both inlisted in a Toledo Company but dont know the name of it; perhaps you may get to see them in Ky we have had no other letters lately; sent you Jon Gerings letter some time ago & hope you have recd it. when I write next from home, I will send you Charles Portis & T Shenks adress I told you in one of my letters about A Crandle he thinks 15 is as low as he could aford to give it for
 
Johnson preached one of his big sermons last S. nite in 2 weeks he will preach his farewell /
 
Now dear son I must close with my best love to you & the boys generally & hope this letter will bring an answer
