                        Sir
Your letter aderessed to the Capt I opened supposing it was on Official Buisness. As I am commanding the Co now, caused by the death of the Capt. he died last Friday his body was sent home. he will want some official notification of your transfer in order to make out books right. Did you ever get a discriptive roll. if so at what date. let me know imediately. I spoke to the Col about your pistol. he has lost it. As he has none in his possession, you will undoubtedly have to loose that. I will make a [?] of it and if possible will collect the amt it cost. Inform me in regard to your transfer imediately as it may save you trouble as well as myself
