Dear brother
I received your letter some days since and having a few spare moments I will endeavor to write a few words in answer. My time is almost wholy engrossed with my numerous duties at preasent another examination is near—and I will have to do some huge "boning" to be prepared—having on hand about 2000 pages to be examined on. I see in the papers a list of the board of visitors for the examination appointed by our patriotic & conservative President—it is composed of the most intensely radical abolitionists that this fruitful north could yield and nearly if not all strongly opposed to the constitution, so I suppose we will come out considerably used up—From various reports I fear you are going to have another rebel invasion. I hope however they are groundless rumors
Tell mother she must not back out of that visit which she promised me as I fully expect it and will be disappointed if she does not come. I wish you would ask father if he will please to send me some postage-stamps with your next letter. I send one of our hop cards of invitation to Florence which you can hand her. I have no more time at present—write soon.
Affect your brother
Rezin
