Camp Dennison
Feb 16th 1865.
Sister Emma,
I will try this evening to pen you a few short sentences, although I have nothing much to write more than I am in good health and my wound is about the same as it was when Alvin was down here. that man that had the sore foot when he was down here, is now laying very low i hardly think he will last till morning. he has been sinking very fast for two or three day's. there has another man / taken sick with the lung fever. he is not very low yet and I think the Doctor will manage his case very well.
What kind of a time did you have at Liberty last Sunday. Was the brick folks down? and when are you going to have another. Emma here is a picture that one of the boys draw for me and as I cannot take care of it I will send it to you. if you wish to keep it you may, if not give it to Eva and Anna. I am not particular what is done with it. /
Well Jane I have nothing more to write at present therefore I shall have to bring my scribbles to a speedy close. hopeing this may find you with mother and Alvin in good health.
Farewell
Write whenever you can make it convenient,
Your Brother,
Wm. H. Bone.
E. J. Bone. /
