Dear Sister
I thought I would write you a few lines to let you know I am well I just came off picket last night when I got your letter you wrote the 6 of this month I was very glad to hear from you I got the 2 papers you sent me the same time you sent the letter you spoke of that box that I sent for why dont you send it you ant agoing to loose any thing by it if I dont get it I want you to send it as quick as you can and all the things I sent besides / and the pieces of each thing I think it will come as far as Fort moroe safe enough I received the envelope and the sheet of paper you sent me I want you to send me another small hand of tobacco by mail as you sent me before why dident you send me them matches in a paper as I wanted you to before I wish you send them to me the sooner you send them the better as soon as I get the money I will let you have it for those things you knied not be afraid you will not get your pay for those things because if dont sent the money for them you may take some / of the money I have got up home for them I want you tell mother to be sure and make me some shirts and send them to me betwen this and fall get me some of this kinder checkerd flanel or plaid I dont want you to get any thing that is very red get me 2 or 3 pieces and wash them to see they dont fade and send them to me I dont care if they cost $10.00 dollars if they are only good ones be sure to make them large eny way and have them long enough that is the greatest trouble with most of my shirts / they ant long enough I ges you can get some cloth for them at Worcester or at North Brookfield I want to have a good pair of shirts once in my life if I can have them It seems you heard by my letter about Farlin Slayton being killed I made a mistake about his bounty he had a note against some one at home of 270 dollars I [faded] to make it as good as $150. dollars [?] on the note with it I send my love to you all I want you to answer this letter as soon as you get this letter I must be a drawing to a close this from your brother

Harriet I want you to send me a form of an order that is in [?] Bank book write it [?] in the book [faded] and send it to me in your next letter the [faded] to be an order from it so you can draw my money out of the book if I should happen to be taken
