Dear Sister Harriet
I thought I would write you a few lines to let you know I got your letter you wrote me the 8th I got it the 12 I was very glad to hear from you and to hear that you was so well and the rest of the folks I am well as usual and I am glad I am so well [?] had a nice shower the day I received your letter I was on fatigue that day I am on picket to day I came on last night and I shall be relived to night I have bin on picket 8 times this month and fatigue 4 times I dont care how much duty I have to do as long as I have good health that is to do picket and fatigue I dont like the marches much I hant had much marching to do since I have ben in this state I believe Father has bin dead 7 years today hant he I wish you would send me good new shose that will weigh about 10 pounds send me as good one as you can get send it in that box I sent after will you I want you to send me that just / as soon as you can not be so long about it as you on the box befor you get it reddy [?] it and dont mind what other tell you about sendding but to send it right on as soon as you get it ready and be sure and send every thing I send for will you and fill it full of all of the things you dont know how much good a box does me I should not have to write to you so much before to get it I dont see what they is they to hinder you from / getting it readdy very quick to send and make sure [?] is right I believe if I was there to get a box ready to send to any one out their I could get it sent quicker than that you just try and send it as quick as you can send it will you send me 3 or 4 cans of milk [?] you send me some of the things I want for before I sent for 2 or 3 quarts of cider but you did not send ½ dozen rolls of lozenges and ½ pint of cumdrops if you can not send me some then [?] of candy you may be afraid [?] you pay for the things if you cant get you [?] for the things any other way take some of the money out of the bank for the purpose then and write me the [?]
