To day am Thursday pleasant very hot and sultry. it looks as tho we should catch a shower if so all right. The Col is no better as yet. I have nothing to do except one or two trips to the Hospital &c per day I will send you a paper which describes the state of affairs at White House Pt. I said to Chesmore that I felt sorry that the man could have been such a fool as to leave such a place I see the correspondent copied my views or thots exactly—see pic marked. I am writing on the bottom of a water / pail consequently the chain is in my way but the house is close at hand I must put my blankets into my Amb or else they will get wet. I will enclose a Yorktown letter for Puss to mail Love to all. Cousin F and A included write when you get a chance Your
