Camp Kellog Oct 12th/62
Dear Brother
Yours of the 5th came to hand the 10th.
Thompson & the boys got back last night, we are all well.
I expect to be musterd in on tuesday or wednesday we are pretty suer this time becaus the officer is on the ground. he has musterd eight companies of the 6th, & when he has musterd all of the companies that have made their muster rolls out we shall receive our pay & bounty.
But I do not expect we shall go away from here before the first of Dec.
There is not a great deal of news.
You must not blame me for not writeing to you more often I get very few chance to be alone.
Yours as ever
Wm. G. Gage. /
Dear Mother
I was happy to get your letter of the fifth.
I was sorry to hear that Mrs Keeler was dead.
Those peaches you sent me fermented but put some sugar on them & put them on the Captains stove & let them come to a boil scald & I am going to have them for supper.
Thompson said Father complained that I did not write often enough. you must not blame me I do not get any chance to be alone & quiet.
I hope Father & Henry are well again.
Love to all.
Wm. Glover. Gage.
