I was sorry to hear that you was worried about me I am all safe & likely to be for a time to come we are all drilling on horse back we are not drilled in the saber exercise we never shot a pistol off our horses yet. It will take us at least two weeks more to learn our horses. we will drill at the same time with our sabers probibly we have had our sabers so long that we are not awkwerd with them, but still it will take at least a month to make us good soldiers of us.

You will think I have not been very sick sence we came here, when I tell you that I weigh one hundred and fifty two pounds and on the gain all of the time.

Mr Drigg took us all over the pattent / office & introduced us to a number of gentlemen.
