William G. Gage to Henry T. Gage, 29 March 1863
Farifax March 29th/1863

Dear Brother
It is a week & a half since I have writen home but I could not help it because we have been moving Our brigade are encamped at Farifax Court House.

We were orderd to march last Thursday at four o'clock & at nine we were on the march with two days rations in our haversacks & our blankets all packed. at dalight next morning we arrived at our present camping ground We then pitched our shelter tents & laid down for a sleep.

We have been on short rations, but our horses have to take the worst of it they had but one half ration of oats yesterday.

We are all well
Wm. G. Gage. /
