Bradley M. Thompson to DeWitt C. Gage, 7 September 1863
Head Quarters 2nd Brig 3rd Div
Cavalry Depot Camp Davis Sept 7. 1863
D.W.C. Gage Esq
Dear Sir: Yours of August 25th reached me by way of the Regiment yesterday
I will see Capt. Darling immediately and will do everything in my power to get Glover a furlough. And it will afford me a great deal of pleasure if my efforts prove successful. It will be but a slight return for the many kindnesses you and Mrs Gage have shown my family during my absence & for which you will believe me truly grateful.
Wishing to be remembered to Mrs Gage & family
I remain—
Your friend
B. M. Thompson
