William G. Gage to Catharine A. Gage, 16 September 1863
Annapolis Md. Sept 16th/63
Dear Mother.
I have not received the express package you spoke of in your last letter. what express Co. did you send it by & what kind of a package was it.
I received a recomend from J Edmonds commisioner yesterday I think I am sure of a ferlough now.
I think the boys are mistaken but they think they are all agoing home before next wednesday. the Maine troops have all gone now.
I am going to see the commander this afternoon & ask for a furlough. I wrote this short note mostly to finde out about that express package I do not like to loose a second one. I am well & send love to all.
Wm. G. Gage
