Camp Dennison Ohio
June 7th 1861
Dear Mother Father Sisters and Brothers Frends if I have eny I gues I have I doint think I will go for three years I do not like the Camp life well enof to go we had a very hard storm Mondy last it raned vary hard and haled and blode Cap Markee end ways there ware hale as big as huled hickrynuts I resived your letter and very glad to here you are well I have no reasns to complain ondly I we have not had enof to eat Isuk sead he would send my fidle home Hiler is here and well it is very hot we will have rain soon I herd that Cap Crofard told you that I had anof cloths I have not got two shurts with / that one you cent me I wade 168 when I come here now I way 155 thare have been three or 4 ben drobed out of the 7 ridgment the forth ridgment has had vary good luck she has not lot lost a man well the trumpet is blowing for squad drill but the three monts boys do not they have got up a petion for the three monts boys for us to sine for us to stay three monts but I [?] stay want sining my name on any such a thing I have bin on guard fore or five times if you can send me some money I wish you would but if you cant I dont want you to do it but I would like to have some I did get stamps with it I do want a little I must get apeal to eat I have had five leters cence I have ben here how many have you riten when you rite to me let me no

well I must rite a little more but it is so hot I cant hardly rite thare goes the fore oclock trane Cap Craford wanted me to go but I did not want to go I think I can get work there I have not got a cent yet and dont no when I will get eny the pay master has ben coming around for some time there has three tranes past with in five minutes the guards are just going out to dril for tomrow you think Cap Craford has eany storys about him if you herd aney thing about him it is not so because he has done what was rite with us when we had not anof he would go and bye enof for us I [?] were having a fout with Dave nash I ondly throwed a baynet at him about six or eight and stuck in the Comersary he was [?] around /
