Dear Sister seat my self to inform you that I am well at this time I hope this will arive safe and find you the same I recievd your very kind letter and was happy to here from you Deal I am getting tired of soldiring darnd if I ant We are hiere in the field in are brush shantes almost as cleen as hogs when we come here we had lise on ous as big as beaf cattel but have scaled them off / and will not say eny more about them We have run old brag out of this state again and are wating here for him to get into missippi and then will start after him dubel quick When we in hereing of him we will lay back and give him a nother start and the way we will go again Deal that is the way we have ben doing for some time I for one am getting darnd teird of sush thunderus worck and wold stop it if it wosent for the name of the thing but I think it is about over for they are enlisting / volenteers in the Reglers serves that makes me thing the wore is about over I hope such be the case I have ben in the serves foreteen months and have not ben in a battel yet the battel the 18th was in I was left back with the wagons but the shels came close to me and bursted it was getting dark it was the nicest thing I ever saw I wold like to of ben thare but the capton thoght so much of me that he made stay with the wagons Sid was not thare he was / with genral thomas on the right the Rebels did not know they was thare and drove one huderd hed of beaf cattel in to there camp and by a littel fiting they toak all of them I must bring my scribling to a close for it is time to get diner no more this time write soon
