Dear Mother sisters and friends
I take the present opportunity to pen you a few lines to let you know how I am geting along I am well hoping those few lines may find you injoying the same blesing I received two letters from you this morning and was very glad to here that you was well but I believe you said that you was not well I am sory to here that you say that you are in the neel house I hope that may do well in your undertaking mother you spolk about that money I ment with / that I let Richard have Ile be [?] an I forgot how mutch I have sent home let it be what it will we are going to get $15 dolars a month and than I will send you some more I can send you $3 dolars every two monts I gues you can get along than you must not forget to send me those things I told you to get you can put them in a small box and send them to nashville tenn Genal Thomas Head quarters or Philip S. Lyman

Nashville Tenn that is the darections please send them as quick as you can you spolk about us boys / being seperated you must not fret about that I am doeing batter than I would if I was in the regiment if I can stay here till my time is out I dont care an expect tharr is not any of the boys but would like to have my place I am Provoc Guard for Genl Thomas I am as heavy as I ever was in my life I ondly way 100 and 70 I never wayed that before in my life before and am ganing every day pleeze put a bottle of ink in that box with the rest you said that you would like to see me come home so would I like to come home as well so you would like to se me come home well I will come home some time 
 
mother you must not feal bad about that money I dont believe I sent you that well Net you have done well this time I doe think you are some homesick sence you got in the Neel house well write soon one and all
