East Saginaw Dec 17
My Dear Brother
We had good skating for about a week and then it thawed and the ice went out if you had stayed one day more you would have had skating You asked me who I sold your skates to I sold them to Wm Bronson
I have tried to sell your pistol and I cannot
The night you went away it froze up and we had skating on Curts bayou the next day
Why dont you write more you / are the young gent that was a going to write once a week
Mother says she feels jealous because you did not speak of her I wish you was here to eat a warm breakfast with us
H. Gage
