James Elmsley to Unknown, 19 March 1865
Mount Pleasant,
Charleston, SC.
Sunday, March 19th, 1865.
My Dear Sir,
Lieut. Remick would very much wish to hear from you as soon as you can find it convenient.
Embracing your kind offer of your services, I sent you last mail a copy of Certificates &c. I now enclose copies of two more. I would very much wish to be permanently detached to the Q.M. Dept. I would of course have to be discharged for Promotion—All of which you would of course see to. I do not confine myself to the Q.M. Dept but that would be more in my line—
Very truly your friend,
JWElmsly.
