Margaret Hinds
Margaret Hinds (maiden name: Pickett) was born in 1843 in Alabama. She married Byrum Hinds in Marshall County, Alabama, on December 27, 1860, and they had at least eight children: Ernest, born around 1864; Ida, born around 1867; Martha, born around 1869; Margaret, born around 1871; Alfred, born around 1874; Clifton, born around 1878; Harry, born around 1880; and Mary Alberta, born around 1885. Her husband served in the Confederate army from March 1863 until April 1865.
 
The family lived in Marshall County, Alabama, and Byrum worked as a physician. By 1870, they owned $3,500 of real estate and $3,263 of personal property. The family moved to Madison County, Alabama, sometime between 1880 and 1900, and Margaret died on September 28, 1904.
