Nathaniel H. Bostwick to Rebecca Smolk, 21 January 1895
Medina O. Jany 21. 1895
Mrs David Smolk
Madam
Mr Burdoin Spoke to me about your getting a pension and suggested that Mrs Randall was not succeeding very well. I have those my on my list who have applications on file for 3 & 4 yrs. These were commenced by Mr Van Epp. The difficulty with Mrs Randalls case is that we undertook to get hers at $12. per month and can not make the proof required. I could probably got it at $8. some time since & there is a possibility we may yet get the $12. I am not in a hurry in her case as she will get the Pension some time from the / day her application is filed.
She is now getting $5 or $8 from the county and I am afraid this will stop as soon as her pension is allowed. I have had all but hers which I commence in 1894 allowed and paid.
Should you come and bring all the papers appertaining to the Pension that you have and after your application is made we will see what proof is wanted and what you think you can make. I wish you would get a line from the Physician as to cause of his death.
Yours Truly
N H Bostwick
