Washington, D.C., Nov. 20, 1895.
Madam:
Your claim for pension under the general law, as widow of David Smolk, Co. K. 103 Ohio Vol. Inf. was rejected November 2, 1895, on the ground that the soldier's death from disease of urinary organs was not a result of rheumatism, for which he was pensioned, nor is it otherwise shown to have been due to his military service.
Very respectfully,
Wm Lochran
Commissioner
Mrs. Rebecca Smolk
Mallett Creek,
Ohio.
