Deare Sister
with plesure I take my seat to anser your kind letter wich I recieved this evening and was glad to here from you all I am in good helth and hope you are all the same. To day we hade a verry fine review of oure briggade it was reviewed by general French. we have a verry good briggade and I think our regiment is the gayest regiment out in the field everry man / had his boots blacked and drest up clean and neat and most of the men are young betwean 18 and 30 years the most of the new regiments which came out last sumer cap them self so verry durty if a man wants to ceap himself clean he can do it if he wants to be durty he cane be that verry handy. I wood like verry well to be at home if the wore was ove if I was at home I wood not be satesfied as long as my Cuntery was in danger and I cood give Assistents in helping to poot this rebelion / down I have bean all most discurrage this winter while I was in the hospittle but now I feal just the other way I feal incurrged to do my duty as becomes a solger and my hopes are britning in the cose of my Cuntry must close fore the bugle is blowing fore role call no more at preset But rite sone from your brother
