Wel mother i seat my self this evening to write you a few lines to let you know that i am well at presant i have not been sick since i came back to Camp of corse pat told you that John H Mc boy came up with me here he stayed here until wendsday and his daddy came up after him and took him a way i tel you he caught it on evry side but the col. told him that he could take him away as he was not old enough nor was not sworn in yet the col sent down after me to come up to headquarters / i went and he asked me if i had enlisted him and i told him i hadent that he came on his onn hook and the boy told him the same as i did then he told old J H to take him and go but if he was his boy he would let him stay but he told Lieut Mull that he would let him come back in a few days but them few days are gone and the hasent returned nor never will while that old siner can render him i say he is nothing but an old hipocrit he is a heep wors than an infernal rebble butternut copperhed or traitor. if i should live to get back thare he will catch / thunder and lighting any man that professes to be a loyal man and a republican to come after his boy when he has come gone to the army ought to be stuck full of splinters and then set on fier but i will quit that subject for it makes me so mad to think about it.
wel we all went to town to day to hear the big Democrats speack i tel you they gave it to the old coperheads was a sin the Stat house yard was just as ful as ful as it would hold there was a hep of folks up here from old Park the fecthed us up cakes honey a blackbury and a heep of other things / but then there was nothing came from old Sile Dooleys or any thing came to sergt Dooley but then it is all right for i suppose you did not know any thing about it for i am shure yould have sent me something to eat a few cacks of corn bread and about a quart of butermilk wouldent go bad atal, but then we get as much as we can eat any how tel lina and martha to write to me i want you to write me a long leter just a bout evrting that happens down there
