                        Dear Sister I am going to try to write you a few lines to night if I can but I feell very sleepy for I have been up very late for the last few nights. Mother is sick she has got the prettiest little girl you ever saw you just ought to be here and see me keeping house but I am getting a long finely. well I received your letter last thursday and I was very glad to hear from you once more for it had been so long since I had heard from you that I began to despair of ever hearing from you again oh Dear I declare I do not / know what to write but it must be something to fill up it has been rainy all day and is runing yet Tommy and Rufus is going to start to school to morow morning.
 
Julia my fellow was here lat night I wish you could only see him he is the finest looking fellow you ever saw I do not care where he comes from but it makes no difference to you wether he is good looking or not but it does to me. there is a great deal of sickness in Barnesville this fall the ulcerated sore throat is very bad all the family join me in sending their love to you and all the family give my love to Nellie and tell her to write to me for I would like to hear from her once more please write to me as soon as you get this letter and let me here from you as soon / posible father and Mother sends their love to grandma and uncles family so it is getting late and I must go write soon good bye
