            good moring to you my dear mother and father sisters i have just com off from gard and i thought i wold try and im prove the upertuinet in riten a ancer to your kind and walkom leter that we reseved from you last nite i was very hapy to heare from you and to heare that you was all wal we ar both wal and i hope when this reaches you it will find you all in joying the same blesing as it leaves us at the present time mother i was sorey to heare that Jacob and amon was on the batel field when they rote to you / but you must not let trubel your mind for i think that they will com out all rite yet for i keep a watch of the papers and i have not seen eny thing about ther regment bene in the fite but mother keep up good coregs and i think that we shall com home all rite yet and i think it will be befor long too i will tell you what i herd last nite i herd that our men had taken rich mod and that hooker had taken fredrecks burg and that our men had taken fort sumter a gain and that they had gon in to charlstun but i do not no as it is tru or not but i hope it is a tru store wal mother i cant think of / to rite so i will draw to a close for this time so i will bid you all good moring for the present time this is from your sun
