Dear Parents Brothers & Sisters
                                                I take my pen to lette you know we are still in camp & are boath well. the troops are mooveing up & are getting ready for an advance all seams quiet in front. I were over to the 72nd on saturday saw milt Bacon he is well I hant herd from william nor Robert in about two weeks. there is talk about their comeing back to fortis monroe again I hope they will for I think that will do. as I am on camp guard & the mail goes out in a half hour I will have to close my letter you must excuse my not writing more this time we moove at four oclock in the morning.             Dear Parents as we expect to moove in the morning erley I thought I would write a fiew lines to inform you of our proseadings. I are well and hope these fiew lines may find you all the same. well mother I supose you have got [faded] that I sent to father with that cross in and I supose that you have gott our money before this write as soon as you do and lett us know and also informe me a bout how the horse buisness is a getting along and also informe me on what you think a bout our bounty and so forth. well I have not got eney news to write and so I might as well close for this time but mother I will send you a suthern song in this letter, one that I gott of a Cesh Gal hur name is Miss Catobuck fine looking Gal and I think that thay beet our northern girls for composing sutch things about soldiers. this is all for this time so good bye this is from your Son
