good moring to you My dear mother once mor i set down to ancer your kind an walkom leter i was glad to here from you and to here that you was all wal i am not very wal but sum beter then i have bin an i went an saw Robert yesterd and i think he is sum beter then he has bin and i am in hopes that he will soon be back to his Co again i hant eny importent news to write every thing is quite still here in the frunt the sharp shuters and the aritilery ar a playing a part of the time / last nite when we came to the frunt the Johneys give a aful chering and we could here them so boltermor is taken but i dont think it but if they have got it let them have it that is all the news the wather is very hot an dry it raind a very little here the other nite but i lad out in it all and did not git weat but i did like to milt it was so hot i have just got a leter from ann saying that her halth is poor Wal Mother i will ad vis you to sail off sum of the things if you ar not agointo have hay a nuf to keep them I was agointo have Elanor by a youk of steers caves but as hay is so deer i shant i will wate till spring and / then if she can git a peair of yearelings and nise ones to git them but i dont want to by hay for it taks all and i will want a nuf left to by me a diner when i com home and one on the road no mor that Mother what for a time did you all have the 4 wal i will tell you my time an diner i laid in the frunt pits all day and eight hard tack and Cofey and a litel souer crout and can tomatos just a nuf to make my mouth water for mor that is my 4 but never mind it is this an then as the boy said by the aple dunks Wal i will close by sending me best respets to you all so good day this is from your sun William
