Robert T. Fleming
Robert T. Fleming was born on November 20, 1830, in Scotland. He immigrated to America around 1851 and settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in the 1850s, and he married Sarah Chickering. They had at least three children: John, born around 1854; Ebenezer, born around 1858; and Robert, born around 1863. He worked as a painter, and by 1860, he owned $11,000 of real estate and $5,000 of personal property. A decade later, he owned $15,000 of real estate and $1,000 of personal property. His wife died on January 13, 1887, and he died in Nashville on December 8, 1906.
