Boston June 13th 1862
Dear Sister
I take this opertunity to write you a few lines although I doe not owe you a letter I believe you never answered my letter that I wrote you some time ago I wish you would write to me as soon as you get this and let me know if you have heard from Alexander since the fight at Fair Oaks before Richmond I received a letter from him mailed the 12th of May I have not heard from him since although I have wrote two letters to him I know the mail facilitys are imperfect to the army and his facilitys for writeing are none of the best but I / thought he mite get time to write to you and if you will answer this as soon as you get it you will verry mutch oblige an anxious Brother the folks are all well Mother is over to Lizzie Beals to day on a visit they are going to move to Lowell the first of July we all send mutch love to you and remember you in our prayers for we think you must feel very lonely give my love to the children and all the friends
