Dear Brother:
Tonight I will try and write you a few lines to inform you that I arrived here this evening all right.
I arrived at Washington City yesterday at 11 Oclock A.M. but there was no train went to the front in the evening, consequently I had to remain in Washington over night. Put up at the "Avenue House" went at night to "Canterbury Hall" Theater. Had a good time. Started from Washington this morning at 9.45 A.M. / Arrived at Culpeper at 5 P.M. I found the Regiment at the same old place, found the boys all well. Henry is in good health. Yesterday and today has been very beautiful days, the sun shining warm and pleasant. They have had quite a snow here while I was at home but it is now all gone except on the mountains. Plenty of it there yet. I had a good ride on the cars. Some four or five more of the boys of my Company have reinlisted and are looking for their furloughs every day. You need not be un- / easy about me re-enlisting, for I have long since decided that I would not, but I believe I told you this when I was at home.
Excuse this very short letter, for I hav'nt time to write more this time.
Please write soon and give me all the news
As ever
Your Brother
Harry
