Ann Austin Tinsley Winston
Ann Austin Tinsley Winston was born on July 3, 1843, in Georgia to George and Ann Winston. Her father was a farmer who owned $7,000 of real estate and $45,000 of personal property by 1860. She grew up and attended school in West Point, Georgia. She supported the Confederate war effort and praised the “gallant Southern soldier[s].” She died on April 24, 1871.
