Mr Harding Sir
with pleasure I take my pen in hand to inform you that my health is yet very poor not any better than when I last seen you but I hope this may find you enjoying good health I will now tell you that the weather is very warm here for a few days and somewhat rainy I want you to write to me and tell me how you are getting along and how your crops are and how soon you think your wheat will do to but for if you need that money I borrowed of you I want to be sure to have it for you at that time. I would like to be at home next Sabbath to go over to Dixie to see the Dixie girls / and eat strawberries but such can not be the case but I want you to give them my best respects and all the girls of my acquaintance and all the young men around there and also Unkle Sammy Harden and also Hijah Cossell and tell Tum blesons boys to go to hell for they are nothing but D—n Butternuts any how I was talking of fetching up my Division to cut your wheat but that has plaid out for I have none now for if I had of had my Descriptive Roll here I would have had my Discharge and been at by this time but they have sent off for it and just as soon as it comes I will get my Discharge but I cant tell how soon it will come for the officers with the Company dont care much about doing any thing for any person that is left back / sick they will generally take there own time for such things if you see Father or any of the rest of my folks you will please let them know how I am getting along and when you go into your strawburry patch I dont want you to for get me but eat a few for me every time I have to pay 15cts a quart for what I get down here I will now close hoping you will write soon to your friend
