Cosin Id. I expect you think that I have forgotten you you but not so I have not got much time to write for I have to go on duty every other night and when I am off of duty I am so sleepy that I can hardly write or do any thing els. we have very good times all but the duty that we have to perform. it is as much as two regiments ought to do. Since we came out to this post this morning we got after two / hogs and killed one of them and it rolled in to the creek and we lost it and Marion Harris wounded the other one and him and Abner Brown run it about two miles and did not catch it after all. three or four of us is going out to have a good time if the bush whackers dont get after us. there is a good many of them around here Id I hope that you are haveing a good time amongst the girls at home to day is sunday here I dont no whether it is at home or not and I ought to be at Sunday School at Mt Jackson at three / oclock but I guess I cant be there this evening so I will say no more about it now but seventy five days more I will be there sure. Our time is one fourth out to day. it has sliped by without any one noticeing it.

Well Id I must close this letter by saying write soon and give me a full history of things that has happened sinc my absence be sure to soon So good by
Your Cousin
