Oliver Jarman (114th USCT)

Oliver Jarman was born in Albemarle County, Virginia, around 1841. By the early 1860s, he was living in Madison, Kentucky, and was owned by planter Edward Jarman. He enlisted in the Union army on June 10, 1864, near London, Kentucky, and mustered into service the same day. At the time, Jarman was 5 feet, 4 1/2 inches tall, and had black hair, black eyes, and a black skin complexion. He served in Company B of the 114th USCT Infantry Regiment but fell ill soon after arriving in camp. He died of measles at the General Hospital near Camp Nelson, Kentucky, on August 14, 1864.
