Detailed History
By 1945, Leroy Smith operated Alma's Grille from 314 William Street. The same year, Lillian Boozer is also mentioned in connection with the restaurant. In late 1945, two burglars snuck into the adjacent apartment complex and destroyed an adjoining portion of the wall to crawl through. They stole over $1,300 from around the restaurant, including cash in a locked box from under a rear bar. Currently, 314 William Street is an empty lot.
